Our Doctors
Dr. James “Max” Janda, DDS grew up in the Chicago Suburbs, attended University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Loyola University, Maywood while deciding that a career in Dentistry was what he wanted. He received his DDS from the College of Dentistry, University of Illinois, Chicago in 1988. Since then he has practiced General Dentistry in Northern Illinois. He purchased Prairie Point Dental in 2005, and in 2010 centered the practice in its location at Eola and New York Streets. His scope of dental care includes all aspects of General Dentistry, for patients of all ages, with a special emphasis on Restorative Dentistry and Preventive Care. He maintains his affiliations with The American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society and the Fox River Valley Dental Association.
Dr. Janda’s primary concern is Comprehensive Dental Care for each of the patients of Prairie Point Dental. Working together with area specialists and our Dental Hygiene team, he is able to craft treatment plans tailored to each person’s needs for ideal health and function. His goal is to have patients “for life”, to be part of their long-term dental care plan.
He is married with two children, Katherine and Logan, who are both married and living in the Chicagoland area. His interests include biking, airplanes, and staying involved with canine rescue groups, with a special emphasis on Collies.
Dr. Katherine “Kat” Janda-DuWaldt, DMD grew up between the rural and suburban environments of Forreston, IL and Naperville, IL. She received her dental education (DMD) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (Class of 2018), and lived in the city for 10 years, before she and her husband settled themselves in Naperville, IL.
As a dentist, “Dr. Kat” prioritizes customized, comprehensive, and conservative treatment plans. She believes that no two patients are ever alike, and each one has their own specific needs when it comes to taking care of their teeth. She uses a combined orthodontic-restorative approach for cosmetic cases, aligning teeth to their ideal places to ensure a fantastic esthetic result, while securing the long-term safety of the final restorations.
In her free time, Dr. Kat plays kickball and softball in local leagues during the spring/summer. She enjoys drawing and painting, and sells her work online and in various local art shows. She and her husband Matt also play lots of video games together, usually in the company of their two cuddly cats, Freya and Shion.
